Rough is the second hazard present in the game. It first appears in Course 5 (Coda Farms).

On a hole with a Rough hazard, you will find cards that are partially covered in grass. These cards take two plays to remove. The first play will remove the grass from it, and the second play will remove the card. This could potentially make a hole difficult if there are a large amount of Rough cards or the Rough cards block a large amount of regular cards.
Strategies[]
- It is best to clear Rough with cards in your play pile; if there are no cards in the play pile and you use the card to clear Rough the next card in your draw pile will automatically be dispensed.
- Mulligans cannot be used when clearing Rough; plan out how you are going to clear the Rough wisely.
- You can use a Midas Club to clear Rough easily. Use a Midas Club, click a card, and then use that card to clear a Rough piece. The Midas Club will be back in your play pile and you can select another card to clear Rough with. This can be extremely helpful in some courses with several Rough cards.
- From the back, a Rough card looks like a normal card. If you see a pattern in Rough cards appearing, track the card to make sure you don't forget it.
- When choosing between a Rough card and a normal card, always choose the Rough card even if the normal card will free up more cards.
Trivia[]
- When Rough is cleared, the card that will be clearing the rough will have an animation by flying towards the Rough card and slicing the grass off it.
